Home Inspection FAQ

What do you inspect during the home inspection?

A home inspection is a non invasive, visual inspection of all of the major systems of the home including but not limited to: Exterior, Roof, Structure, Cladding, Drainage, Plumbing, Electrical, Windows, Doors, Safety Features, Railings, Decks, etc

Do you move customer belongings for a home inspection?

Unfortunately no. We are limited by liability to just a visual, non invasive inspection of the subject property. That doesn't mean it is easy to hide deficiencies. Home Inspectors with experience know how to find clues that reveal many of the deficiencies that can be hidden. We like to think of ourselves as detectives and general practitioners for homes.

Do you include thermal imaging as part of the inspection?

A Complete Thermal Imaging inspection is an additional service we offer. As a Certified Level 1 Thermographer, we have the training and experience to provide that service. We do however include in your inspection, a thermal scan of any areas of concern. We use the thermal imaging camera as a tool to provide clues to hidden deficiencies not visible to the naked eye. It offers an extra layer of information to provide the most thorough inspection possible.

How long does an inspection take?

Most home inspections take between 2-3 hours. There are so many variables that effect this. Size of structure, age of structure, accessibility, etc. These all have an effect on the time to complete the onsite part of the inspection.

How long after the inspection can I expect my inspection report?

We do everything in our power to get your report to you the same day as the inspection. We guarantee you will have it the following day. 99% of our clients have their report the same day. You will receive a digital link in your email to the report itself. If you want to see a sample report we have done, click HERE

Should I get my new construction home inspected?

New homes are inspected by whichever municipality oversees the area. Some large builders have great relationships with these governing bodies and understaffed offices can sign off on homes without proper inspections. Municipalities inspect to minimum requirements. Home inspectors inspect to best practice. Besides which, having a unbiased professional inspect your project at the various stages protects, for many, the largest investment they will ever make. It is the best money you can spend.

Why should I hire you to inspect my home?

Reason 1: Experience. Chris spent decades building experience in the construction industry. Everything from home building to construction supply management. He has seen most everything. He has really enjoyed leveraging all of that experience and technical knowledge into home inspection. Years of Home Inspection experience have only built on that knowledge and experience. Experience makes a difference.

Reason 2: Tools, we spare no expense to ensure the tools we use are state of the art and allowing us to give you the most accurate information possible. Everything from the drone used to inspect roofs when the conditions don't allow for walking it, to the thermal imaging camera used to detect heat signatures giving clues to possible hidden deficiencies.

Reason 3: Integrity. We put our clients, and their needs, first. We take no shortcuts, even though it would allow us to fit more inspections into our schedules. From using the best software (which carries higher expense but gives the best client experience), to taking whatever time is required to answer questions after the inspection. We keep our inspection records for 10 years and are happy to answer any questions you have for as long as you own the home we inspected for you.

Reason 4: Education. Chris has not only completed the state of Nevada NHIE education requirements, but has also earned the NACHI, CPI, designation. On top of that he has also completed the Carson Dunlop Home Inspection training program. Hundreds of hours of education as well as yearly continuing education requirements to maintain licenses and qualifications.

There are always exceptions and unique scenarios that can change some of this information but this is generally applicable to most Home Inspection situations.
